ERIE — Iola High School’s Future Business Leaders of America chapter took home first place overall Jan. 14 at the District FBLA Convention hosted by Erie High School.

Roughly 400 kids representing more than 20 schools took part.

Iola students placing in the top ten of their respective events:

— Tavon Bass, third, entrepreneurship; second, marketing; first, sports and entertainment marketing.

— Bret Plumlee, third, entrepreneurship; first, sports and entertainment marketing.

— Jeremy Waldman, third, entrepreneurship; second, marketing; 10th, insurance and risk management.

— Karson Sigg, sixth, entrepreneurship.

— Brett Willis, sixth, entrepreneurship.

— Haley Carlin, first, hospitality management; first, marketing.

— Allie Fager, first, hospitality management; first, marketing.

— Lexie Vega, first, hospitality management; ninth, impromptu speaking; first, marketing.
