The Iola Police Department will host its annual Hooked On Fishing, Not On Drugs fishing derby June 20 at Abbott’s Pond along North Cottonwood Street.
Pre-registration is available through 5 p.m. June 18 at the Police Department, or the morning of the event.
The event is open for youngsters ages 2-17.
Gates open at 8 a.m., rules follow at 8:45 with fishing commencing immediately after.
The fishing runs until 11 a.m.
Awards will be handed out afterwards, and youngsters will be provided hotdogs and chips.
Parking for the event will be at Grace Lutheran Church, 117 E. Miller Rd.
