Former Humboldt police chief Brian Dillow is facing new charges, accused of stealing firearms and related items from the city.
Dillow made his first court appearance Wednesday on three charges of theft of a firearm owned by the City of Humboldt, and one charge of theft of firearm accessories, ammunition, a phone handset and SIM card, according to Allen County District Court records.
Dillow resigned as the citys police chief in October 2018 after reaching a diversion agreement with prosecutors on charges of domestic battery, battery and criminal damage to property from an arrest in June. After his arrest, Dillow was placed on an administrative leave of absence, then fired in August. The city later rescinded the motion for his termination and accepted his resignation.
His next court appearance will be May 15.
