Laurie Hartley, Kearney, Mo., and Kevin Poteet, Liberty, Mo., announce their engagement and approaching marriage on July 4 in Willow, Alaska.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Vivian Barnett, Colony, and the late Robert L. Barnett Sr. She is a 1983 graduate of Crest High School and earned an associate of business degree from Allen County Community College. She is employed by Cerner Corporation in Kansas City, Mo.
The groom-to-be is the son of Ben and Bonnie Poteet, Joplin, Mo. He is a 1983 graduate of Carl Junction High School and attended Spartan School of Aeronautics at Northwest Missouri State University. He is self-employed.
