Robert and Julie Tholen, Moran, Taylor Scharff, Fort Scott, and Karen Scharff, Moran, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Michelle Tholen and Duane Scharff, Stafford, Va.
The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Marmaton Valley High School and received an associate’s degree in nursing from Labette Community College.
The groom-to-be is a 2002 graduate of MVHS. He is in the U.S. Marine Corps in Quantico, Va.
The couple are planning an Aug. 13 wedding at St. John’s Catholic Church in Iola.
