Delores French, site leader at the Shawnee chapter Days for Girls, talks to Iola High School students about reusable sanitation products to help girls stay in school in countries in places like Africa, Asia and South America. Statistics show 1 in 10 girls in Sub-Saharan Africa, 113 million girls in India and 30 percent of girls in rural Brazil will miss school this year because they are unable to manage their menstrual cycle, French said. Students expressed interest in helping with the program.
