Dannette Newland, Iola, and Brent Cleaver, Iola, were married on June 20, 2015 at 4 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola with Pastor Trudy Kenyon, Iola, Pastor Jay Newland, Omaha, and Pastor Hans Krohn officiating.
Dannette is the daughter of Iolans Mark and Cindy Newland and granddaughter of Carolynn Krohn, Iola, Sam and Rhonda Newland, Osage City, and Georgia and Jim Maier, Statesville, N.C.
Dannette’s maid of honor was Leah Clark, Bartlesville, Okla. Bridesmaids were Claire Kenyon, Iola, Emily Roush, Lebanon, Allison Cleaver, Wichita, Charley Cleaver, Wichita, and Michelle Cameron, Manhattan.
Brent is the son of Mark Cleaver, Iola, and Chandra and Kevin Stauffer, Wichita, and the grandson of Mary and John Cleaver, Iola, and Barbara and John Thompson, Alamagordo, N.M.
Brent’s best man was Tyler Miller, Pittsburg. Groomsmen were Mark Cleaver, Iola, Dylan Newland, Iola, Matt Woer, Pittsburg, Nick Lannone, Pittsburg, and Ridge Zelaya.
The couple honeymooned in London and Paris. They will reside in Pittsburg.
Dannette earned her Bachelor of Science degree in family and consumer sciences with an emphasis in early childhood development and a minor in psychology from Pittsburg State University in 2014. She is working on a Master of Science in early childhood and family development from Missouri State University. She currently is working as corporate administrative assistant from Pitsco Education in Pittsburg.
Brent received his Bachelor of Arts in history with a minor in political science from Pittsburg State University in 2015. He is employed at O’Reilly Auto Parts in Fort Scott. He will be joining the U.S. Air Force in the upcoming year.
