Christian Church

Howard Reiter gave the communion meditation Sunday from 1 Kings 19:1-7, reminding us that Satan wants to keep us in a hope-starved condition, so keep your hope in God. Pastor Chase Riebel gave the sermon on week 5 of the Believe series: The Church.  Acts 1:14-15 tells us to meet together and be in constant prayer. The church isn’t the building, but the people. We must go out into the world and share God’s gift of grace.

Men’s Bible study is at 7 a.m. Tuesday. A meal and prayer time is at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, followed by the youth “Believe” study at 7. (Kids are welcome to come to the church at 4:30.)

The “Believe” groups are on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Movie Night  is Oct. 27. A hay rack ride will follow church on Oct. 28. Working Wonders will provide lunch.

Members will fill their Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes next month

Cowboy Church

The praise band, led by Cindy Beckmon, opened the service Sunday at High Point Cowboy Church in songs of worship. Ron Thompson narrated a congregational communion observance with band members serving the elements. Pastor Leo Ramsey spoke about new beginnings and referenced Scripture in 1 Chronicles 29:11-12. He also introduced Lance Ramsey, who shared with the group how God opened doors for the purchase of the Cowboy Church building.
