COLONY — Bruce Symes gave the Communion meditation on Biblical memorials at Sunday’s Colony Christian Church service.

Do we think about the “Why” of memorial days, Symes asked.

For Memorial Day, it’s the men and women who sacrificed everything. Passover reminds us of the last plague of Egypt. Joshua set up a stone memorial to remember God’s words. We take Communion in a memorial for Jesus’s sacrifice for us on the road.

Pastor Chase Riebel gave the sermon on gentleness. Romans 10:17 tells us faith comes by hearing the good news about Jesus. We need to present the good news in a gentle way so we don’t drive people away from the word of God. There is no men’s Bible study or youth group this week. Wednesday night Bible study session is at 6:30 at the parsonage.
