COLONY — Darren McGhee gave the Communion Meditation “Hide & Seek” at Sunday’s Colony Christian Church service.

Just like as a child we play hide and seek with our friends, we often try to play hide and seek with God, McGhee said. Jonah tried to hide from God, Peter denied even knowing Jesus.

What are we trying to hide from God? When he ask you to do something, do you say “But Lord…” All our work should be dedicated to the Lord, and his plan may be different from ours, he said. Jesus is “it”, and one of these days he’ll say, “Ready or not, here I come.”

Pastor Chase Riebel gave the sermon on “Joy, noting we have the joy of being a child. God calls us his children. As such, we look forward to our father coming home and being together with our family for eternity. We have the joy as a parent.

In Matt 1914-15, Jesus says, “Let the children come to me.” Our father’s purpose is to give us a rich and purposeful life. We need to share the gospel so we know that we’ll see others again in eternity.
