Celebrating birthdays this week were Calvin Lay on Monday, Sue Ellen Warren Wednesday and Breanne Hodgden today.

Special guest, Mike Skidmore, treasurer of Agape Interfaith Ministries International out of Ottawa, discussed the organization’s work and outreach ministries. The goal is to “preach the Good News everywhere.” Agape is planning a mission trip to India in November 2019. Anyone interested in going should contact Mike.

Pastor Steve Traw’s message, “Letter from a Missionary,” was taken from the Philippians Epistle.

Pastor Traw leads Bible study at 3 p.m. Tuesdays on the New Testament book of Acts.

Melvin and Linda Guenther spent last weekend in Bartlesville, Okla., visiting Linda’s sister, Connie Grimes, for her birthday.

Bruce and Judy Cochran and Michelle, Breail, and Baylea Thompson, Iola, attended a couple’s bridal shower on Sept. 22 in honor of Ryan Cochran and Katherine Barnes, who are engaged to be married April 13. The party was hosted by John and Kathy Stephenson, aunt and uncle of the bride-to-be at their home in Leawood.
