Carlyle Presbyterian Church

“The Golden Censer” was the title of Pastor Steve Traw’s message taken from Revelation Chapter 8, at the Oct. 13 services at Carlyle Presbyterian Church. This chapter introduces the breaking of the seventh seal, and the heavenly imagery is parallel to the rituals occurring at the Temple in Jerusalem on the Day of Atonement. On the Day of Atonement, people came to the altar through the shed blood of animals sacrificed for their sins. Today, we come to the Savior through His shed blood on the cross.

Pianist, Myrna Wildschuetz played “I Bowed on My Knees and Cried Holy” for the prelude and Rita Sanders played “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” for the offertory.

Gene and Naomi Chambers celebrated their wedding anniversary on Oct. 13.

The Church Fellowship Dinner will follow the morning services at noon on Oct. 20. The Christian Strings will perform at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, in the Carlyle Church Sanctuary.

Bible Study with Pastor Steve on the book of John will be at 3 p.m. on Tuesdays.
