Pastor Steve Traw’s message Sunday was “Forerunner” taken from John 1:6-8, 19-34.    

Pianist Rita Sanders played “Peace like a River — Glorious Medley” for the prelude and “The Way that He Loves” for the offertory.

Celebrating birthdays were Bob Burns on Tuesday and Linda Bartholomew and Jim Wildschuetz on Thursday.

Lovely new chairs were provided for the Carlyle Church Sanctuary through memorials for Charles, Helen and Larry Sutton.

Communion will be served Sunday.

Bible Study with Pastor Traw on the book of Ephesians will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

 

Around town

Visiting Jim and Joanne on Father’s Day was Jim’s daughter Diana and son-in-law Richard Deeds from Emporia.

Joanne’s great grand daughter Zoey McIntyre, rural Yates Center, spent the afternoon Thursday with Jim and Joanne. 

Visiting Thursday evening from Gridley were granddaughter Ashton Birk, Brandon and great-grandson Jaxen.
