Iolan Emma Gilmore and Bryan Nardo of Shadyside, Ohio, announce their engagement and pending marriage. The couple will be married May 27 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Bellaire, Ohio.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Larry and Denise Gilmore, Iola. Her grandparents are Wallace and Delores Strickler, Colony, the late Raymond Gilmore, Le Roy, and the late Nellie and John Fowler, Burlington.

She is a 2013 graduate of Emporia State University, earning her bachelor’s degree in athletic training. She is seeking her physical therapy assistant’s degree at Washburn University and will graduate in May. She works at Newman Physical Therapy in Emporia.

The prospective groom is the son of Perry and Jayme Nardo, Shadyside. His grandparents are Shirley Moczek and the late Paul Moczek, Martins Ferry, Ohio, and Kathy Nardo and the late Joe “Bunnye” Nardo, Bellaire.

 

He earned a degree in sports administration in 2008 and a master’s degree in coaching education in 2011 from Ohio University. He is an assistant football coach at Emporia State University, serving as the program’s co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.
