Bryan and Emma Nardo, Emporia, were married May 27, 2017, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Bellaire, Ohio.
The bride is the daughter of Larry and Denise Gilmore, Iola. The groom is the son of Perry and Jayme Nardo, Shadyside, Ohio.
She is the granddaughter of Wallace and Delores Strickler, Colony, the late Raymond Gilmore, Le Roy, and the late John and Nellie Fowler, Burlington. He is the grandson of Shirly and the late Paul Moczek, Martins Ferry, Ohio, and Kathy and the late Joe “Bunnye” Nardo, Key, Ohio.
Officiating were the Revs. Tom Magary, Martins Ferry, and Brandon Farrar, Emporia.
Emma’s maid of honor was Morgan Buchholz, Nashville, Tenn. Matron of honor was Kiaya Akromis, Omaha, Neb. Bridesmaids were Kari Clubine, sister of the bride, Lake Jackson, Texas, Erica Richey, sister of the bride, Austin, Texas, Amanda Strickler, cousin of the bride, Colony, and Sydni Keagle, niece of the bride, Louisburg.
The best man was Matt Nardo, brother of the groom, Emporia. Groomsmen were Nate Saum, Amanda, Ohio, Ben Spanner, cousin of the groom, Chicago, Justin Wieser, Emporia, Luke Nardo, brother of the groom, Shadyside, and Kyle Pytlak, cousin of the groom, Glen Dale, W. Va.
The couple spent their honeymoon at Disney World in Orlando, Fla.
Mrs. Nardo is a 2008 Iola High School graduate. She earned her associates degree in general studies at Allen Community College in 2010 and her bachelor’s degree in athletic training at Emporia State University. She earned a physical therapy assistant degree from Washburn University in 2017.
She works as a physical therapist assistant at Newman Physical Therapy in Emporia.
Mr. Nardo graduated from St. John Central High School in 2004, and with a bachelor of arts degree in sports administration from Ohio University in 2011.
He is the co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Emporia State University.
