Bob and Welcome (Hicks) Wayne will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 11, 2015.
They were married at First Church of God in Neodesha, on April 11, 1965. Welcome graduated from Neodesha High School and Bob from Augusta. Welcome graduated from Mount Carmel School of Nursing in Pittsburg in 1962. She recently retired from Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola after 46½years of nursing. Bob retired from the military and civil service.
Bob and Welcome had two children, both born at St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita. Their first child, Kristie, was born on May 19, 1967. Kurt was born Oct. 10, 1970. Kristie and her husband, Loren, have one daughter, Lorin. Friends and family are invited to attend a gathering from 2 to 4 p.m. April 11 at First Baptist Church.
