Sweany retires from USDA after 34 years

He worked as a field assistant and county executive director for the Farm Service Agency in both Kansas and Florida.

David Sweany

David J. Sweany recently retired from the USDA after serving farmers for 34 years.

Sweany attended Marmaton Valley High School, Allen Community College and Kansas State University.

He worked as a field assistant and county executive director for the Farm Service Agency in both Kansas and Florida. Sweany also served as a farm program chief in Tennessee and district director in Florida.

Most recently, Sweany worked as a county executive director out of offices in Topeka and Lawrence.

David and his wife Jacque are both Allen County natives. He’s the son of Linda Sweany and the late Dean Sweany, LaHarpe.
