Area students take part in inaugural Orchestra Honors Day event in Independence.

Four Iola string orchestra students took part in the first Independence Community College Orchestra Honors Day on Saturday, Jan. 25, in Independence. Students played under the direction of ICC’s music instructor Larry Markiewicz and gave a free public concert at the end of the day. Participating schools included Iola, Colony, Independence, Parsons and Fort Scott.
