Participants are “Racing For a Cure” this weekend at Iola’s Riverside Park for the annual Allen County Relay For Life.

The relay runs from noon to 10 p.m. at the Recreation Community Building.

The relay benefits the American Cancer Society.

Activities include a 5 p.m. survivors dinner. Each cancer survivor can bring one caregiver for the meal free of charge. Other caregivers and/or family members may attend for a donation.

A survivors lap follows the dinner at 6 o’clock, with caregivers invited to join the next lap.

A live auction filled with assorted donations from local businesses begins at 7. The Allen County Relay For Life Facebook page has a list of auction items.

The luminaria ceremony starts at 9 o’clock. The candles sell for $10 apiece. Buyers are welcome to donate their candle in honor or in memory of a loved one.

Food booths  and jewelry and craft stations will be set up as well.
