The regular monthly meeting of the Prairie Rose 4-H Club was called to order by President Mallory Heim Sunday, Nov. 14, at the Moran United Methodist Church.
The Cloverbuds led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge. Roll call was answered by 14 members, three cloverbuds, and two leaders.
There were two guests present.
The club made a special presentation of canned food items to Ann Houk who represented Moran Food Distribution.
The secretary’s minutes were approved as read and the officer reports were all approved as given. The leadership committee reported on the new t-shirt design for the upcoming year.
Community leaders, Angelea Heim and Kelci Botts reminded the club of upcoming events and the Dec. 1 enrollment deadline.
In new business the club voted to ring the Salvation Army bell at Iola Walmart, to participate in the Wreaths Across America event in Fort Scott by laying wreaths for Christmas, and to adopt two children for Christmas through the foster care program.
For the clothing project, members will take care of purchasing items for the two children.
Kaden McVey and Natalea Elmenhorst led recreation with relay games.
The program included a talk by Raveyn Kegler about the history of cattle and a talk by Kyron Kegler over the Holocaust.
The meeting concluded by reciting the 4-H motto.
Hosts were the Kegler and Scharff families. The next meeting will be at 4 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Moran United Methodist Church with a service project starting prior to the meeting at 3:30.
