Vehicle struck

James A. Gibson was northbound on North State Street Feb. 3, when he told officers he took his eyes off the road to answer a cell phone call.

Gibson struck the rear end of a pickup driven by Ronny G. Rohr, who was turning into a parking lot in the 200 block of North State.

Neither driver was injured.

Laptop stolen

Iola police officers were told Wednesday of a laptop stolen from Iola High School. 

A juvenile suspect was identified. Information for potential theft charges has been forwarded to the Allen County attorney’s office.

Disturbance 

reported

Iola police officers were called to a disturbance Sunday in the 600 block of North Sycamore Street. Information is being forwarded to the Allen County attorney’s office for possible charges.

Citation issued

Cleto Coronado was cited for having an animal at large/improper tethering after his dog got loose from its tether on Feb. 4 and bit a neighbor’s dog, Iola police officers said, in the 300 block of McGuire Drive.

Money stolen

Dawna Parker told Iola police officers Monday she had been scammed out of an undisclosed amount of money through Facebook for purchases she attempted to make.

Barrel stolen

Catherine Miller reported the theft of a trash barrel Monday in the 700 block of South Buckeye Street.

Bike found

Officers recovered a white and black Smith & Wesson mountain bike in the 200 block of East Street. The bike had mismatched tires and pink spray paint as well.
