MV students show off math skills

Marmaton Valley High School students were among the more than 250 competitors from 10 other schools at the Allen Community College Math Relays March 9.

Students competed in different math competitions and at different grade levels throughout the day.  

Those placing from Marmaton Valley were:

Sophia Heim, first place in word problems and second place in math potpourri.

Marmaton Valley’s algebra relay team of Emily Robertson, Kylah Sander, Braelyn Sutton and Shelby Sprague took fourth.

“I am proud of our kids not only in their accomplishments, but also in how they represented Marmaton Valley,” math club sponsor Kelci Botts said. “It was another great day to be a Wildcat.”
