Lily Mynatt and Ava Neewman qualified in duo interpretation by placing fifth at the qualifier meet. Gabby Briggs and Emily Robertson were one place behind in sixth, also qualifying.
Mynatt and Sophia Heim both qualified in original declamation by placing sixth and seventh, respectively at Wichita.
Mallory Heim qualified by placing sixth in original oratory.
Sophia Heim qualified in a second event, extemporaneous speech, by taking eighth. Mallory Heim finished in ninth.
Others competing for Marmaton Valley, but finishing just out of the running for a nationals bid, were Ava Newman, who took ninth in dramatic performance, and Jeff Spillman, who finished ninth in oral interpretation of literature.
The national competition will be held Memorial Day Weekend in Louisville, Ky.
Marmaton Valley will send several students to the state forensics competition in May, courtesy of their work at other events this spring.
On Feb. 18, the students competed at the Three Rivers League speech and drama competition at Altoona-Midway.
Sophia Heim qualified for state by finishing second in extemporaneous speaking. She also took third in informative speaking and third in impromptu speaking.
Mallery Heim qualified for state by taking second in informative speaking. She finished fourth in extemporaneous speaking and in impromptu speaking.
Ava Newman and Lily Mynatt earned a state bid by placing second in duet acting. The team also took sixth in improvised duet acting, while Newman took third in poetry and sixth in prose.
Sophia Heim also had a strong showing at a Jan. 28 meet in Neodesha, finishing third in impromptu speaking and fourth in extemporaneous speaking.
