The busy week concluded on Saturday, with MV students competing at Wichita East High School in a National Catholic Forensics League qualifying event.

Autumn Simpson finished fourth in oratorical declamation, thus qualifying for nationals.

Shaffer also qualified for nationals, courtesy of her fifth-place finish in dramatic performance.

Shaffer and Heim teamed up to finish seventh in duo interpretation. Mattox took ninth in oral interpretation of literature.

The national tournament is May 23-24 in Chicago.
