The afternoon of Sept. 11, 2001, Marilyn Page of Iola penned this poem and cared to share it again.

The Towers to Heaven

So many died that terrible day, the towers were hit and crumbled away.

When I looked at those towers, so high in the sky, the towers to heaven that so many died.

They tried to hurt us, they made us cry. Loved ones are in the towers of heaven at God’s side.

As God’s children we pull together to mend and to heal and now we need to take care of the evil.

Drive them away, for the terrorists must pay for the lives they have taken at the towers that day.

We must remember in the towers of heaven we will meet them all someday. To join hands together and let’s all pray.

God bless America, every day.
