The Iola High School’s forensics team took home five first-place medals, as well as the team sweeps title, at the Frontenac Invitational Saturday. FRONTENAC — Iola High School’s forensics team continued to rack up more gold Saturday.

The competitive speaking and acting troupe nabbed five first-place medals on the way to rolling to the team sweepstakes title at the Frontenac Invitational.

Demarco Ross was a two-time winner, taking first in both oral interpretation of poetry and as part of the duet acting entry with Kaeden Vega.

Layla Newkirk led a loaded oral interpretation of prose squad, as Iola placed five of the top six finalists.

Ben Heiman won in program of oral interpretation,while Everett Glaze took first in serious solo acting.
