Pastor Chase Riebel took his sermon from Ezekiel 2 and 3 Sunday morning. God had shown Ezekiel a vision so that Ezekiel could glimpse God’s unparalleled glory. Ezekiel was called “son of man” more than 90 times in the book of Ezekiel. God was reminding him that he is human, weak and frail, and completely dependent on God. God caused Ezekiel to swallow a scroll with a message regarding repentance so that Ezekiel could deliver this message to Israel. The words were as sweet as honey in his mouth.
The communion meditation, “A Legacy of Affliction,” was given by Howard Reiter. It was from Psalm 119:65-72. Affliction teaches us to trust God. When we survive the tough times, we appreciate the good times. The smallest luxuries can bring great contentment.
Worship songs this week were “Come As You Are,” “Waymaker,” and “Our Father.” The Billingses — Mike, Elka, Ursula, Petra and Isla — led worship. Ben Prasko was on keyboard.
