When Adam chose not to follow God by eating the fruit, he went from possessing life to progressively dying. We are dying until we choose to put our faith in God, then we possess life from that point on through eternity. (Ref: Genesis 1 and 2:7,8,10,15; John 3:3-21 and 7:37-38 and 10:10; 1 Peter 1:3-4)
