Iola police officers are investigating a string of thefts involving the removal of catalytic converters from vehicles.
Officers were told of two vehicles at Twin Motors Ford — one on Wednesday, another on Thursday — being targeted.
Meanwhile, Michael Weide said Thursday the catalytic converter was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked near D of K Vaults.
Catalytic converters, which contain platinum and are used to contain pollutants from a vehicle’s exhaust system, are popular targets for thieves because they can be removed relatively quickly and resold to salvage dealers.
