Molly Kathleen Carroll of Lenexa recently travled to Hollywood to attend the Industry Dance Awards Ceremony and Benefit Show.
The red-carpet event was held at the iconic Avalon Theatre and Event Center.
The Industry Dance Awards bring together dancers, educators, pioneers and dance icons recognized for their achievement and artistic contributions.
Carroll was awarded the IDC Runner-Up Choreography Trophy in the Best Lyrics/Modern/Contemporary category.
She was nominated for the award by Masquerade Dance Competitions for her first-place National Award-winning contemporary choreography piece, “Evermore.”
Carroll is a competitive dance team instructor and choreographer for LeDance Studio, owned by Liz Ernst in Lenexa and Spotlight Dance Academy owned by Mallory Melvin-Watkins in Ottawa. She also has choreographed for Supernova Dance Authority owned by Marielle Melvin in Iola.
She is a trainer and instructor at Pure Barre Physical Fitness Center and owns her own photography studio, Molly Carroll Photography, in Lenexa.
She was trained and danced competitively at LeDance studio and on spirit squads at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Kansas and the University of Oklahoma.
Accompanying Carroll to Hollywood was her lifelong dance teacher and mentor, Liz Ernst.
Carroll is the daughter of Maureen Percy Carroll of Lenexa and the granddaughter of Jeanne Anne Percy of Iola and the late William Glenn Percy.
