Steve Traw’s scripture reading Sunday titled “Embracing Things Reverent,” came from Exodus 20:7-11.

The third commandment states, “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.” God takes his name as Holy, worthy of reverence.

Leviticus 24 states the punishment for blasphemy. Be a messenger of respect, do not use profanity, jokes or trivial sense about God, it does not give any glory to God. This should be daily, not just at church or on Sunday. We should correct ourselves every day and show self-control and remove ourselves from others that don’t do it. Be on guard, watch over your shortcomings and speak like a true Christian.

Special music was provided by Madeline Graham, wife of Colten and granddaughter-in-law to Janice Oberg. She sang a rendition of “Amazing Grace.”  The church plans on having an Easter potluck breakfast at 8 a.m., April 20, at the Fellowship Hall.
