Bidding farewell

Jeff Jackson has retired from the Allen County Road & Bridge department after 24 years of service.

Jeff Jackson, a 24-year employee with Allen County, worked his final day with the Road & Bridge department Friday. A retirement celebration was held Friday afternoon and Jackson was recognized for his years of service.

Jackson noted that he has enjoyed working for Allen County over the past 24 years. “I like being on that truck,” he said. “I’ve driven a lot of miles and have laid a lot of rock.”

When asked what he plans to do in his retirement, Jackson noted that he is going to work on improving his health and spending time with his daughter. “That’s it, for right now,” he said.
