COLONY — Organizers of the Colony/Crest Alumni Reunion have canceled the 2020 reunion, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Alumni officers said the decision to cancel the May 30 event rather than postpone it was made because there has not been an estimated timeline when they were certain events can resume as normal.
A scholarship fundraiser — a chicken and noodles dinner and bingo game — will be rescheduled at some point.
The Colony Crest Alumni will still award scholarships to two graduating Crest High School seniors this year.
Those wishing to donate to the scholarship fund may do so at Goppert State Savings Bank in Colony, or by contacting alumni officer Arvin Clemans, 705 N. Kentucky St., Iola KS 66749, or by calling Clemans at (620) 363-4836.
