Ivan R. Jones, terminal manager for the three bus lines serving Iola, announced today that the Union Bus Depot will occupy new quarters about April 1. Jones has leased the site of the Texaco service station, a few blocks south of the Kelley Hotel, and will remodel it to serve as bus headquarters. The lot will provide off-the-street parking for all busses serving this area.

Pat Michaelis, oil operator who moved to Iola a few months ago from Kansas City, has joined with Ed Kemp of Neosho Falls in forming the K & M Drilling Co. It is an outgrowth of the Kemp Drilling Co. formerly operated by Kemp.

 HUMBOLDT — Mr. and Mrs. Lester Thompson of Chanute have announced the purchase of the Little Cafe on Bridge Street, from Mr. and Mrs. Orville Light, the sale effective Friday, March 10.

J. C. Penney, president of the nationwide retail organization which bears his name, spent about an hour in Iola yesterday, visiting with Merle Main, manager of the local store.

Dr. H. L. Bumgardner of Emporia announced today that he will open an office in Iola on April 1 where he will practice optometry. Dr. Bumgardner has leased a suite of rooms at 14½ South Washington.
