Neosho County commissioner resigns

ERIE — Neosho County’s commission chairman resigned, saying she had been stalked and harassed by opponents of a proposed wind farm, The Chanute Tribune reported. Jennifer Orr resigned via a letter, which said members of her family had been followed and photographed. She said she thinks the harassment was prompted by opponents of the Neosho Ridge Wind power project because she favors the project. 

 

Health clinic opens in Oswego

OSWEGO — A temporary health clinic opened Monday at the former Sonic Drive-in, The Parsons Sun reported. The Labette Health Oswego Clinic and Express Care will have two providers and other staff. Labette Health is still working on a permanent location for Oswego and a clinic site in Chetopa.

 

FFA students take hay to Nebraska

FREDONIA — Fredonia FFA students hauled multiple truckloads of large round hay bales, pet food, water and other necessities to flood-damaged Nebraska, The Wilson County Citizen reported. Local businesses and individuals donated the items, including the hay. The trip took about 5½ hours.
