[Anniversary] Sam (Melvin) and Helen Rife

 A surprise 50th wedding anniversary celebration is planned for Sam (Melvin) and Helen Rife, Bronson, from 2 to 6 p.m. July 30 in the annex of Bronson’s United Methodist Church, 502 Charles St.
Sam (Melvin) Rife and Helen Fuhrman were married July 30, 1961, in the United Methodist Church in Bronson.
He is retired from Key Industries in Fort Scott, is a longtime employee of Fort Scott Sale Barn and is a farmer/rancher. She was a lifelong educator and is retired from the ANW Special Education Cooperative. She taught at Marmaton Valley Elementary School.
Hosts for the celebration will be Loren and Regena Lance, the couple’s daughter and son-in law, Bronson, and their granddaughters, Lydia Lance, Bronson, and Korenne Grzybowski and family, Humboldt. The couple have four great-grandchildren. The couple has one deceased child, Jo Lene Rife.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts.
