Iolans Rex and Loretta Ellis will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 24 at the John Silas Bass North Community Building.
Rex Ellis, son of the late Bill and Lois Ellis, and Loretta Sutton, daughter of the late Calvin and Nadine Sutton, were married Nov. 23, 1968, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Iola. Lorettas grandmother, The Rev. Alice C. Sutton, officiated the ceremony.
The couples children, Michelle and Larry Toney; Heath and Jenny Ellis; Jason Ellis and Karie White; and Kevin Ellis will host the reception.
The Ellises have nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Both are retired. Rex formerly worked at Haldex; Loretta was a kindergarten teacher.
