Nathan and Sandra Granger, Iola, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. April 3 at the Riverside Park Recreation Community Building.
On April 2, 1960, Sandra Kay Wolf and Nathan D. Granger were married at First Church of God in Wichita by the Rev. E.E. Kardatzke. They both attended Hutchinson Community College and Kansas State University. Even though they have lived throughout the United States working with three different large corporations they kept returning to Kansas, their home. For the last 17 years they have lived in the Iola area. He works at Wolf Creek nuclear power plant, and she is a homemaker and retired.
Hosts for the anniversary celebration will be the couple’s four children and 10 grandchildren. Their oldest son, Dr. Nathan Granger and his wife, Mary, have three children, Emily, a student at the University of Indiana, Spencer and Claire, of Parkville, Mo.; their daughter, Nanette Symes, lives in Iola with her husband, Bruce, and daughter, Danielle, who is a student at Allen County Community College. Nanette’s two sons, Luke and Blayne, attend Pittsburg State University and Texas A&M; their son, Tyler Granger lives in Iola and his two daughters, Lyndsi and Ashle’, attend Hutchinson Community College; and son Saber Granger lives in Kansas City, where his children, Zoey and Zachary, also live.
