Elwin and Joan Ermel will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Feb. 28 in the Bronson United Methodist Church annex. The couple were married in Bronson United Methodist Church on Feb. 28, 1960.
She is the daughter of Marland and Annabel Highbaugh. He is the son of Louis and Doris Ermel. They have lived most of their married life at their current home in rural Bronson.
Elwin and his father farmed and ranched together for many years. She worked many years for Van’s Grocery and Locker as well as helping out on the farm. They are both retired and enjoy being with friends and going to their grandchildren’s ball games. He enjoys riding horses and raising cattle.
The couple have two children, Teresa and Tracy Smith, Moran, and Jim and Jo Ermel, Uniontown. Grandchildren are Lacy and Keenan Daily, Uniontown, Chase and Lindsay Ermel, Stark, and Jacy Ermel and Dain, Kaity and Abbie Smith.
