Carl and Barbara Letsinger will be honored at a 50th anniversary celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. June 13 in the Little Theater in the Recreation Community Building in Riverside Park. Music will be provided by Lloyd Houk.
Carl Letsinger and Barbara Joan Sinclair were married June 10, 1960, in Iola by the Honorable Earl Ruse. The vows were witnessed by H.A. and Pauline Letsinger. She was enrolled in cosmetology school in Wichita, and he was employed by Humboldt Brick Yard.
She operated a day care center in her home for 42 years. He worked as a deputy sheriff in Allen County and later was employed by Gates Corporation until his retirement in 1999.
In 1967, the couple adopted Carla Joan, and in 1968 Marla Sue was adopted.
Carla Wachter lives in Houston, Texas, and Marla Lang in Evans, Ga. The couple have three grandchildren, Devin, A.J. and Hyland Wachter of Houston.
