Ballou Philip Jr. (Stub) Heigele and Eletheamae Virginia (Letha) Drake Heigele celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Thursday.
Stub Heigele and Letha Drake were married on April 19, 1942, in San Diego, Calif., where they made their first home. While living in San Diego, Stub enlisted in the U.S. Navy and Letha returned to Iola during this time to be with family. Following Stub’s service in World War II, they settled in Iola where they still have their home.
