Jerry Whitworth is the new manager of Trout’s. Whitworth has been in Iola since last month and took over active management of the store, which was purchased by Hale McGinty of Neosho, Mo. He and his wife, Sharon, and their eight-month-old daughter, Tera, moved to Iola from Little Rock where he was manager of the J. C. Penney store for four years.

Mr. and Mrs. Chet Taylor have purchased the building which houses the Reynolds Sundries Store from Jake Elliot and will move Johnnie’s Dress Shoppe into the building by mid-summer.

Two new dentists, both of whom have local ties, have opened offices here. Dr. Vernon Lee, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. George Lee who live on South Cottonwood, is practicing in the office at 111 W. Madison formerly occupied by Dr. Dee F. Honey. Dr. Lee was discharged from the Navy last month. The other new dentist is Dr. Larry N. Magnuson. Dr. Magnuson will open his office in the Marvin Boyer building on West Street, just off Washington. Dr. Magnuson was also in the Navy and was discharged last year. He has spent eight months working with the Elks Mobile Dental Unit for handicapped children in Missouri. Dr. Magnuson’s wife, Mary Ann, is the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Ralph Bauer who live near Elsmore.
