The City Commission voted unanimously to go to the city administrator system of government this morning. The motion was made by Commissioner Tince Little and seconded by Commissioner Craig Abbott. The action means that a city administrator, who will have significant powers over all departments of the city, will be hired. The administrator will keep the commissioners informed of the financial condition of the city. The city commissioners will still make some personnel decisions, such has hiring and firing and awarding of raises. Mayor John Carder said the city administrator would be hired from a pool of professionals who are trained to administer cities.
