The Southeast District 4-H Horse Show was this morning at Riverside Park. More than 100 competitors from nine counties took part. Blue and purple ribbon winners qualified for the state fair.

Allen County Community College is working on a deal with USD 257 to build a home for as many as eight students at the ACCC farm north of Iola. College President John Masterson told the Board of Trustees Thursday the building would be built by the Iola High School building trades class.

Jo Ann Butler, a 31-year employee at Jones Jewelry, 5 N. Jefferson, is the stores new owner. Durwood Jones, the stores owner for 37 years, died earlier this year.
