Edward P. Marquis, Iola meat packer, was presented the 1964 Kansas Meat Packer of the Year award at the meat packers convention yesterday at Emporia. Marquis is president and general manager of the M&M Packing Co., of Iola.

A report on plans to expand and remodel the Allen County Hospital was given to the Allen County Health Facilities Planning Council by Howard Immel, chairman of the board. The Council was formed last year to study health facilities needs and make recommendations for their improvement. Council officers are the Rev. Paul Pentz, chairman, Charles Fussman, Humboldt, vice chairman, and Mrs. Warren Browning of Moran, secretary. Immel said the hospital board plans to add two wings to the hospital, one to add bed capacity and one to house mechanical facilities.
