William A. Mick Michaelis of Wichita and his son, Mike, has purchased the stock of Citizens State Bank of Moran and assumed management. Michaelis is the chairman of the board of Allen County Bank and Trust of Iola and, with his son, owns the United America, Twin Lakes and Wichita State banks in Wichita. George Mack has been named chief executive officer of the Moran bank temporarily while a search for a new president is conducted.

The Allen County Community Junior College would like to have the old county farm north of Iola so that it can expand its agricultural program. The county commission previously had decided to ask the voters in the April 3 election for permission to sell the farm. About 14 acres would not be sold. The Circle B Boys Ranch is located on those acres and the home and the land around it are leased to Methodist Youthsville for the next seven years.
