MANHATTAN Southwind Extension District 4-H members from Allen County competed Saturday in the State Horticulture Judging Contest at the Kansas State University campus in Manhattan.
Participants were required to identify 50 plants, place eight categories of plants on quality, and were tested on their knowledge on various aspects of plant science.
There were 94 competitors combined in the intermediate and senior divisions.
Representing Southwind were Levi Meiwes, Zoi Yoho and Gracie Yoho in the senior division and Abigail Meiwes and Carly Kramer in the intermediate division. Accompanying them was their coach, Terri Kretzmeier.
