Prairie Rose 4-H Club members met Sunday at the Moran Community Center. Zoi Yoho, vice president, led the business meeting. Eighteen members, two Clover Buds and one guest were in attendance.
Preparation for the upcoming Allen County Fair was the main order of business.
Final reminders and guidelines for projects were given by community leaders Kim Shoemaker and Kelci Botts. Members voted to explore collaboration with the Iola Community Orchard and work with Thrive Allen County Moran to paint poles on Main Street in preparation for Moran Day Sept. 21.
Baily LaRue gave a demonstration on making Glitter Cups. Kaden McVey showed his rock collection from a recent trip to Colorado. Shelby Sprague discussed hair preparation for steers. Natalea Heins and Sophia Heim told members about their experience at Rock Springs 4-H Camp this summer.
The annual Retirement of Flags was conducted following the meeting. Approximately 100 flags no longer in condition to be displayed, were respectfully retired by fire.
The next meeting will be at the Moran Methodist Church Aug. 11. Members will enjoy a carry-in dinner and the annual slide show tour of club exhibits.
