ST. PAUL — You can’t outrun the long arm of the Lawson.
Marmaton Valley High’s Brayden Lawson took control early, scoring nine first-quarter points against host St. Paul.
The Wildcats’ junior forward didn’t slow down from there, winding up with 25 points as Marmaton Valley roared to a 52-21 victory.
The win lifts MV to 4-8 with a packed week ahead. The Wildcats have home games Tuesday against Lebo and Friday against Yates Center, and a makeup road game Thursday at Crest on the calendar.
Marmaton Valley led throughout against St. Paul, 11-7 after one quarter and 30-14 at the break. Lawson tacked on eight more points in the third period as part of a 12-1 run to put the game away.
Chase Smith added eight points and Dominic Smith six for Marmaton Valley.
Zakary Kirkpatrick led St. Paul with eight.
