The Sluggers, a 14-and-under traveling softball team comprised of players from Iola, Humboldt and Moran, brought home the OGSA Heartland World Series championship Sunday, but they did it the hard way. The Sluggers only lost once in the tournament, but it was in an early-round contest against the Groove. That meant proceeding through the elimination bracket to earn a rematch. The Sluggers did just that, advancing to Sunday’s championship round, where they defeated the Groove twice to secure the title.
